What is pain?
Pain occurs when your body is experiencing trauma and damage. It is a vital warning signal that something is wrong and should never be ignored. Medication such as pain killers simply mask the pain while the underlying cause of your pain may get worse. We will help reduce your pain and stiffness and help get you moving freely as quickly as possible.
How soon should you see someone about your pain?
Don’t wait to see us if pain starts. Research shows the earlier the intervention the quicker your recovery. Whether your pain started this morning or has been there for years you should come to see us right away. We will take a very detailed case history and undertake a thorough examination to determine the cause of your pain and what can be done to alleviate it. We are very experienced at helping people to reduce their pain and correct the underlying cause to help prevent it returning (see below for testimonials).
What if I’m starting to feel better?
It’s great that you are starting to feel better, however it is still important to discover why your pain developed in the first place. Discharging yourself when you are feeling better is the most common reason for your problem to return and potentially get worse. Most cases of severe pains such as a ruptured disc started as a low grade ache that comes and goes on and off for years and then all of a sudden the disc ruptures by a simple cough or sneeze. If you deal with the problem when it is mild you are very likely to prevent a serve episode later.
Are aches and pains normal?
NO! Pain is very common but it is definitely not normal. Pain is a result of trauma and injury to the body which should be examined and treated accordingly and not ignored or masked with medication. We recommend you deal with pain before it get’s worse.

Our Unique Co-management Approach to helping resolve your Pain
Our Osteopathy and Rehabilitation Team work together in providing you a tailor made care plan to help resolve your pain as quickly as possible and help prevent it coming back! See below for Testimonials
Phase 1 Relief Care – Osteopathy
Your Osteopath will start your care plan. They will take a full medical history and diagnose your problem. They will then provide Osteopathic treatment to help resolve your pain and get you moving freely as quickly as possible. To get the best results your Osteopath will co-manage your care plan with Lisa or Michael Clark (Co-founders, Senior Osteopaths and Rehabilitation Specialists). At a suitable stage in your recovery (typically when you reach 70% symptom improvement) they will schedule an appointment with either of them to further assess and incorporate Corrective Exercise/Rehabilitation into your care plan.
Phase 2 Corrective Care – Studio or Home Based
Michael and Lisa’s Co-management approach is unique, ensuring the symptom relief you receive from Osteopathic ‘hands on treatment’ is re-enforced with suitable corrective exercise. They will perform many additional orthopaedic and muscular tests and design a suitable exercise plan for you. The level of detail they go through is unlike anything you would receive on the NHS and this is why their programmes are so effective. Depending on the severity of your injury and what is necessary for your recover they will recommend either home based programme or working with them and their rehabilitation team in the onsite training Studio.
Q. Why do I need exercise in my care plan?
Research (and our experience) shows that pain relief MUST be accompanied with specific corrective exercises. Discharging yourself when you are feeling better and therefore not correcting the underlying cause, weaknesses and imbalances is the most common reason for your problem returning and potentially getting worse.
Michael and Lisa have for many years worked closely with Osteopaths, Doctors and Surgeons to incorporate corrective exercise into patients care plans and have a reputation for resolving the underlying root causes. The level of detail they go through is unlike anything you would receive on the NHS and this is why their programmes are so effective.
